Michael L. Holland Attorney At Law
I practiced law in Fort Worth from 1989 to 1991. Then I moved to Houston and started my own practice in 1992 and have served thousands of clients over the years from all over the State of Texas. I have a history of working in retail from the years prior to law school and I continue to have the frame of mind of providing service to my clients.
I am not like the typical lawyer who is bad about returning telephone calls. My staff and I return calls promptly and I will explain things to you however many times it takes for you to have a clear picture of what we're doing.
I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and I have been doing this kind of work for a long time. You can feel secure in knowing that I have the type of confidence that comes from successfully helping thousands of clients over the years just like you.
I take the time to discover how all the pieces of your situation fit together before recommending solutions. After learning about your circumstances and your needs I take an educational approach of outlining the solutions for your needs in a way that allows you to make decisions about your life. Your peace of mind is important to me. Helping you understand what lies ahead for you is one of the reasons I created this website. Here you’ll find answers to questions that will give you more confidence in the important decisions you’ll be making soon.
The goal of this site is to help you worry less and to find the right solutions faster.
Don’t feel you have to read everything on the site to get help. I will be happy to answer any questions you have about what we do here at the Holland Law Firm that can help you and your family. Also, I handle your case myself. You are not passed off to my staff. I make myself available for you and I will always take your phone calls.
There are 100,000 lawyers in the State of Texas. So why hire me for your legal needs. Good question. And I believe I have a good answer.
After I got out of the Marine Corps in the 1970's, I went to work for a chain of hardware stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For the next 11 years I worked my way up through management because I took to heart the adage that you must take care of the customer. I've carried that approach into my law practice. Customer service is a big deal that too many other law firms have forgotten.
I've been in private practice since 1992 and I believe there are several things that make my law practice different from the rest. I take the trust you place in me seriously. I appreciate the fact that my clients place their problem in my hands and trust that I am going to solve their dilemma. I am very good at returning phone calls and listening to my clients.
You might not think something as simple as returning phone calls is a big deal, but trust me when I say that as a group lawyers are terrible at returning clients calls. I am not and here is why. When I was a young lawyer, my first job was with a little firm in 1989. My boss told me that we would get hired by clients who had fired their other lawyers and if a new case came in and that was what had happened to ask them why they fired that other lawyer. So I would ask and the answer that came back 100% of the time was 3 fold (1) they couldn't get in to see their lawyer, (2) their lawyer wouldn't take or return their phone calls and (3) they couldn't speak with their lawyer. I decided then that would be something that I would always do and I’ve been making myself and my staff available to my clients since 1989. If I am with clients and you call, I will return your call as soon as I come out of that interview. If I am sitting at my desk and you call - I will take your call right then. Some days I am in court all day but I stop by my office and return all calls before I get to go home because that is how I do business. A client has every right to be upset if their lawyer doesn't return their calls.
I also have the coffee pot on and the refrigerator filled with cold drinks and invite my clients to just drop in if you have questions or just want to bounce something off me. I am happy to see my clients and I try to let them feel that when we meet.
I also try to lower the pretense and talk with you just like you are a friend or neighbor. I like my clients and I like to think that the vast majority of them would tell you that I did a really good job for them and that I had their best interests at heart. I have the best clients in the world and tell everyone that because it's true.
Want to find out for yourself? Give me a call and let's discuss your issue and see if I can help you and if we're a good fit for each other.
I also draft and prepare Warranty Deeds and Ladybird Deeds, as well as Prenuptial Agreements and Partition Agreements (also known as Postnuptial Agreements). These marital agreements are very helpful for couples needing asset protection for their assets or to protect their spouse in the event of litigation or I.R.S. tax problems.
